Ludington area: Seeking career oriented individual responsible for literacy program coordination, assuring parent involvement and volunteer program efforts, implementing HEAD START objectives, evaluation and planning for four county Head Start program. Skills Required: Understanding of Early Childhood Development. Ability to supervise, excellent verbal/written communication skills, organization and problem solving. Computer experience helpful. Qualifications: B.A. in Early Elementary or Early Childhood Development. Starting salary $35,000 w/benefits.

FiveCAP, Inc. operates eight (8) Head Start Centers in the four counties of Mason, Manistee, Newaygo and Lake.  FiveCAP Head Start is a center-based program serving 3-5 year old children Mon-Thurs, September-May. Center Staff work August (orientation/start up/recruitment) thru end May/early June (closing/inventory/cleaning).

LEAD TEACHER: FULL TIME: Head Start teacher responsible for managing classroom of children 3-5 years of age, creating good learning environment to promote growth and learning consistent with Head Start Performance Standards and Day Care Licensing. Qual: AA or BA req’d in Early Childhood Dev. or Early Elem. Ed. with a CDA or ZA; experience teaching preschool children. Salary $32,000 with BA degree in ECE, medical, dental, vacation, paid holidays.  Please provide copy of college transcripts.

ASSISTANT TEACHER: PART-TIME; 26 hrs/wk. Responsibilities vary from creating a good learning environment to promote growth and learning for 3-5 year olds (consistent with the Head Start Performance Standards, Day Care Licensing), to working as part of the teaching team and supporting these activities. We’re looking for someone who enjoys responsibility and wants to be part of a team where their effort is appreciated with a willingness to follow directions. Requirements: Child Development Associate (CDA) or willing to acquire within one year of employment; one year experience working with children. Employment subject to passing job-related physical exam and TB test. No citations for child abuse or neglect. $9.86/hr. Bilingual preferred for Grant location.

KITCHEN AIDE / FLOATER: PART-TIME; 26 hrs/wk. Seeking reliable individual that can communicate effectively, accept supervision and positively interact with preschool age children and co-workers. $9.86/hr.

BUS DRIVER:  PART-TIME; 20-25 hrs/wk. Must have a high school diploma or GED. Able to meet state laws and endorsements required to operate school buses: Commercial Drivers License (CDL) with P & S Endorsement required. Must have good driving record, be drug free, dependable, have a pleasant personality, and interact well with preschool age children. $13.85/hr.

Employment subject to passing job-related physical exam and TB test. No citations for child abuse/neglect. Able to lift up to 60 lbs. Criminal background check. 

Must relocate if not resident within 30 miles of Center/Office location.
